By booking boarding services with Castle Boarding (“we”, “us”, “our”), you (“the Owner”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Booking and Payment Terms
1.1 Payment Timing
Full payment is required either:
-
In advance of the boarding period; or
-
On the day of check-in, prior to the animal being accepted into our care.​
1.2 Deposits
We reserve the right to request a deposit for larger or extended bookings.

Deposits are non-refundable unless cancellation is made within the agreed cancellation period (see Section 2).

The deposit amount and payment deadline will be confirmed at the time of booking.
1.3 Failure to Pay
Castle Boarding reserves the right to refuse boarding services where payment terms are not met.

2. Cancellations and Amendments
2.1 Cancellations must be made in writing (email or message confirmation).
2.2 Deposits may be retained where cancellation occurs within [7/14] days of the booking start date.
2.3 Early collection does not entitle the Owner to a refund for unused days unless agreed at our discretion.

3. Vaccination Requirements
3.1 Rabbits must have received all necessary vaccinations prior to boarding, including but not limited to:

Myxomatosis
-
Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (RHD1 and RHD2)
3.2 Castle Boarding requires proof of up-to-date rabbit vaccinations prior to or at check-in. Failure to provide proof may result in refusal of boarding without refund.
3.3 We reserve the right to refuse any animal showing signs of contagious illness upon arrival.

4. Owner Responsibilities
4.1 Owners are fully responsible for informing Castle Boarding, prior to boarding, of:

Any medical conditions
-
Behavioural issues
-
Special dietary requirements
-
Medication requirements
4.2 Owners must provide clear written instructions for any medication and ensure sufficient medication is supplied for the full boarding period.
4.3 Failure to disclose relevant medical or behavioural information may result in:
-
Termination of boarding without refund
-
Liability for any resulting costs or damages

5. Health and Illness
5.1 Castle Boarding is not responsible for any animal illness, injury, stress-related condition, or death occurring while in our care except where caused by proven legal negligence.
5.2 If an animal becomes ill or injured during boarding:

We will attempt to contact the Owner immediately.

If the Owner cannot be contacted, we reserve the right to seek veterinary treatment as deemed necessary.
5.3 All veterinary fees, transport costs, and related expenses are the responsibility of the Owner.
5.4 Owners authorise Castle Boarding to act in the animal’s best interests in emergency situations.

6. Late Collection Policy
6.1 Animals must be collected on the agreed date and within agreed collection times.
6.2 Late Collection Charges:

Late collection will result in a charge of the standard boarding rate for the first 24 hours.

After the first 24 hours, a fee of 20% will be added on top of the daily boarding fee per additional day of late collection.
6.3 If an animal is not collected within 7 days of the agreed collection date and no contact is made, we reserve the right to:

Treat the animal as abandoned
-
Contact relevant authorities
-
Rehome the animal where legally permitted
-
All associated costs remain the responsibility of the Owner​​
Castle Boarding reserves the right to refuse release of the animal until:
-
All outstanding boarding and late fees are paid in full.

This is consistent with contractual rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, provided charges are transparent and agreed at booking.

7. Boarding Conditions
7.1 While every reasonable care is taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all animals, boarding carries inherent risks including stress, illness, and injury.
7.2 Animals are boarded at the Owner’s risk, except where injury or illness results from proven negligence.
7.3 We reserve the right to separate animals if deemed necessary for welfare or safety reasons.

8. Feeding and Personal Items
8.1 Owners may provide their own food. If not supplied, Castle Boarding will provide appropriate feed at an additional charge where applicable.
8.2 We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal items supplied (e.g., toys, bedding).

9. Aggressive or Dangerous Behaviour
9.1 Animals displaying aggressive or dangerous behaviour that poses a risk to staff or other animals may result in:

Immediate termination of boarding

Requirement for early collection
9.2 No refund will be given in such circumstances.

10. Liability
10.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10.2 Castle Boarding’s liability is otherwise limited to the value of the boarding fees paid for the relevant booking.
10.3 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

11. Refusal of Service
Castle Boarding reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings at our discretion where:

Vaccination requirements are not met
-
Payment terms are not satisfied
-
Welfare concerns arise

12. Data Protection
12.1 We collect and process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
12.2 Client information is used solely for:

Managing bookings
-
Emergency contact purposes
-
Legal and licensing compliance
12.3 We do not share personal data with third parties except where required by law or for veterinary treatment.

13. Licensing and Compliance
Castle Boarding operates in accordance with all applicable UK animal welfare legislation and local authority licensing conditions.

14. Agreement
By confirming a booking, the Owner confirms that:

All information provided is accurate and complete.
-
They have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
-
They are the legal owner or authorised keeper of the animal.
